RSPB Bempton Cliffs is home to over 12,000 breeding pairs of Gannets from late January to the end of October. Gannets are our largest seabird with a wingspan of 6 feet (2 metres), they pair for life and come back to the same nest site each year. We will look to capture images of these elegant seabirds, from on the cliff edge with their young to flying past the viewpoints at eye level. This Gannet photography workshop will consist of a three-hour session along the cliff-top with Steve Race, Yorkshire Coast Nature's award-winning wildlife photographer, who has years of experience of the reserve and its birds. This small group workshop will be tailored towards beginners and enthusiasts who are keen to learn about and practice some of the essential skills of bird photography. We will be looking at how to capture that perfect image and covering field craft, technique, exposure, light conditions, composition, basic camera settings and working with birds in flight.
